Dealing with Difficult Participants

If you are doing a presentation, whether it is giving a speech or conducting a workshop you may encounter members of the audience who may range from difficult to hostile!   While most workshop participants are normally very friendly, on a few occasions  someone will show up every now and then that fall into one of the following seven (7) categories:

1. He/she believes that they know more than you;
2. He/she asks you to provide supporting documentation/evidence/research to support your presentation;
